Vinaya is a seasoned organizational leader with 30+ years of expertise in startups, midsize and large organizations and research labs. Vinaya has bootstrapped and grown Multi Location Offshore Delivery Centers of Fortune 500 companies to more than 1000+ associates. Vinaya has headed Engineering and Technology groups in product companies (Cloud Native, Analytics, AI/Machine Learning, Application Security) and FinTech/BFSI domains (Payments, Mortgage, Lending, Real Estate Tech).
Vinaya is a venture builder, having bootstrapped and grown Offshore Delivery Centers (ODC), Centre of Excellence (COE), Research Labs and Startups. Vinaya has a proven senior leadership track record in all aspects of setting up, scaling and running ODCs and COEs including Vision, Strategy, technology direction, mentoring, governance models, planning & budgeting, vendor & contractor relationships, staffing (recruitment, retention, university relationships) and delivery. Vinaya has expertise in bootstrapping new groups/COEs in areas of Analytics, Technology Research (Neural Networks, Machine Learning, Data Mining, Natural Language Processing), GIS (Geographical Information Systems), ETL.
Vinaya has been Digital Transformation Advisor for a set of Industries across JAPAC. Vinaya has diverse experience in large, mid-sized and startup environments. He has demonstrated CXO level engagement to acquire, retain and grow the businesses.
Vinaya has expertise in establishing and leading world-class global product engineering organizations. He has successfully delivered products through hands-on knowledge of microservice architectures, latest technologies, deep understanding of domain, customer ecosystem and life cycle of product development. Vinaya has experience in building Internet Scale AI/ML enabled Cloud Native Applications for the API Economy with Privacy and Security Built In.
Vinaya has diverse experience in research labs, large, mid-sized and startup environments. Vinaya is a respected leader in highly-matrixed corporate environments. Vinaya has demonstrated CXO level engagement to acquire, retain and grow the businesses. Vinaya has managed large outsourcing teams spanning a number of technologies.
Vinaya has been teaching as a Visiting Faculty for Post Graduate Programs at leading Universities/
Vinaya holds an MBA from Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore and B.Tech [Computer Engineering] from National Institute of Technology, Surathkal. He has a Diploma in Business Finance (DBF) and is a Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (Scrum Alliance). He is a Senior Member of IEEE.
He is an inventor of a number granted/published patents (US, IN) and a number of publications and invention disclosures.
