IIIT Lucknow welcomes its 2nd batch of MBA (Digital Business) and PGDBM Programs

 

The Indian Institute of Information Technology Lucknow (IIITL) welcomed the second batch of its MBA (Digital Business) and PGDBM (Business Management) students on the evening of 7th October 2021 with all zeal and warmth. The online orientation program organized by the institute’s Department of Management and Humanities gave the incoming batch of student managers great insights into the college’s people, policies, practices, ethos, and culture.

In his inaugural speech, Dr Arun Mohan Sherry, Director IIITL, highlighted the core aspects of education, exposure, experience, and extra-curricular activities regarding pursuing this new-age techno-managerial program. He also stressed the importance of putting forth hard work, determination, and persistent perseverance necessary for a successful student journey.

Mr Rajeev Kumar (Vice President, L&T Infotech Ltd.), the Guest of honour, delivered an exhilarating Presidential address. He urged the freshmen to understand that “Tomorrow Starts Now”, amidst the paradigm shifts (enabled through emerging technological megatrends), shifting globalization dynamics, and new realities in the age of this global pandemic. He also threw light upon evolving aspects like diversity, transformation enabled through technology, the dark side of technology, social impact, and value creation for society in this era of AI and digitalization.

Dr Vinod Kumar, HOD Dept. of Management and Humanities, elaborated on the vision, norms, and policies governing the department, followed by the introduction and warm welcome by all faculties. All students of the incoming batch also introduced themselves during the course of the event. The representatives of the MBA batch 2020-22 presented various clubs and committees functioning at the institute and department level.

Dr Bindu Singh, Assistant Professor, In-Charge E-Cell & Library at Management and Humanities Department, also welcomed the upcoming batch.  She encouraged the budding entrepreneurs to be a part of the Entrepreneurship Cell of IIITL, where entrepreneurs are personally mentored and groomed by experts around the globe.

Dr Neelu, Assistant Professor IIITL, proposed the vote of thanks at the event’s conclusion.

 

The incoming MBA and PGDBM batch of 2021 comprises 24 students with a male to female ratio of 65:35 approximately. The batch also has a diverse geography, age and work experience – with 90% of the batch either employed in private and government organizations or self-employed and having 2+ years of experience.
